Gardner Capital has a rapidly growing national platform and is looking to add to its team for the following role. 

Position Overview: 

The Financial Analyst II is an experienced finance professional within the Financial Planning & Analysis team responsible for independently leading financial analyses, developing complex financial models, supporting investment underwriting, and managing key budgeting and forecasting processes. This role partners closely with Accounting, Asset Management, Development, and executive leadership to evaluate business performance, identify financial risks and opportunities, and deliver actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. The Financial Analyst II is expected to take ownership of assigned projects, recommend process improvements, and serve as a trusted analytical resource across the organization. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Independently develop and maintain complex financial models.  
  • Lead underwriting analyses for acquisitions, refinancing, and development projects.  
  • Own portions of the annual budget and rolling forecast process.  
  • Perform detailed variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.  
  • Prepare executive-level financial presentations.  
  • Evaluate investment returns, capital structures, and financing alternatives.  
  • Support lender, investor, and audit requests independently.  
  • Identify process improvements and automate recurring analyses.  
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Asset Management, Development, and Executive Leadership.  
  • Mentor interns and Financial Analyst I team members.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline 
  • 2–5 years of FP&A, investment analysis, valuation, or corporate finance experience 
  • Advanced Excel, Power BI 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • MBA/CPA/CFA Preferred 
  • Real estate or investment analysis exposure 
  • SQL or VBA exposure 

Work Environment: 

This job operates in a professional office environment Monday through Friday.
