Gardner Capital – a family-owned private equity firm, specializing in multifamily housing and solar energy development – announced on Thursday the hire of Ava Goldman as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing development services and closing related activities for the company’s housing initiatives across more than 18 states, expanding the company’s national footprint and development capacity. Ava will work closely with the CEO, Michael Gardner, as well as the company’s executive team that identifies, evaluates and executes Gardner Capital’s national housing strategy, including the development of thousands of multifamily housing units on an annual basis.
“The growth of Gardner Capital in recent years has been nothing short of spectacular. I’m excited to be working with executives and staff of such high caliber with a mission to do well financially while doing good for the community,” said Ava Goldman, Chief Operating Officer, Gardner Capital.
A revered leader in the multifamily housing industry, Goldman has both private and public experience in housing acquisition, preservation, and rehabilitation and has organized the development and construction of mixed-income communities in a diverse array of cities from Washington, DC to Honolulu, Hawaii. Goldman joins forces with Gardner Capital after spending more than two decades with the Michaels Development Company, including three years as President, where she facilitated the development of an expansive portfolio of housing projects. Among Ava’s many accomplishments, awards and recognitions, she was named as one of the Top 10 Most Influential Women in Multifamily housing by Multifamily Executive Magazine in 2015.
“Ava’s experience and knowledge of the multifamily housing industry is truly remarkable. We have been very interested in finding a way to work with Ava for quite some time, someone whose experience in multifamily housing is truly unrivaled, and are very excited that we found the right opportunity at the right time to expand our mutual interests in the multifamily space. We are truly honored to have Ava join the team and are looking forward to expanding our national footprint in multifamily housing together,” said Michael Gardner.
